Financial needs in the agriculture and agri-food sectors in the European Union

This report summarises the main findings of the 24 EU country reports on the financing gap in the agriculture and agri-food sectors, published in June 2020. The analysis is based on the identification and assessment of the supply of and demand for financing, and on the quantification of the unmet demand for financing for the two sectors. The report also provides insights on the financial market development for EU farmers and agri-food processors, with the aim to contribute to a better understanding of the potential need for continuing currently operating financial instruments, or for creating new or additional ones, with support by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
