EquiFund – ESIF equity financing for SMEs in Greece
A new fi-compass case study has been published that features the ESIF fund of funds EquiFund, set up in Greece by the managing authority of the EPAnEK operational programme. Established with EUR 200 million of ESIF resources and national co-financing, the financial instruments are aiming to mobilise more than EUR 750 million of finance to support SMEs in Greece.
The fund of funds manager, the European Investment Fund has selected nine financial intermediaries under three separate investment windows to provide support tailored to meet the needs of high growth companies at different stages of development. The case study provides insights into key features of the financial instruments including the different products employed, State aid approach and communications campaigns. Accompanied by a video case study, with separate interviews with practitioners , these new materials aim to provide fi-compass stakeholders with a detailed account of how Venture Capital and Private Equity support can help promote entrepreneurship in EU Member States, providing business know-how and guidance together with finance to support the development of high growth companies.
